Spend a fun day in nature and strengthen connections

Nature can teach us a lot about ourselves. As well as a leveller, it’s offers a sense of perspective that’s hard to achieve in the office. Great for leaders who are looking for a fun but meaningful immersion.

Each workshop can be tailored to what your teams outcomes are, but could involve: Building a bush shelter, working together in a survival scenario, creating art in nature, an interactive mindful walk, kete of kindness.

Teams will foster trust, empathy and effective communication while deepening their connection with nature and their inner self.

Duration: 7 hours
Group size: 6 - 16 people

$350 - $550pp (Plus GST)

Programme overview

Mindful hike with team building, 2 hours: Focus on being mindful in nature to destress, tune in to the rhythm of your intuition and reduce cluttered and unproductive thinking. Kylie will give your team all the tools they need to engage all their senses, and tap into the unconscious wilderness of our brain. This is a powerful way to destress, reconnect and promote divergent thinking. Team up for a series of interactive exercises on the return trip that will keep everyone on their toes!

Morning tea: Hot drinks and sweet treats picnic style in the bush!

Ancient forest highlights tour, 50 minutes: As we make our way into Maungatautari's Southern Enclosure, hear from Sanctuary Mountain staff about the birds and the bees, the flowers and the trees and what makes the conservation project at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari truly special as the largest mainland ecological island in the world!

Lunch: Buffet style lunch at our bush boardroom table, nestled in the bush under the canopy, with the birds for company.

Afternoon Forest Immersion Programme:
Survival Scenario: Imagine being one of the first to arrive in ancient Aotearoa. Moa are roaming the countryside, giant predatory birds hunt the skies and the ground is covered in thick canopy. Your group will be split into teams and given a scenario and a bounty of survival items from which they must work together to ensure they live through a series of challenges!

Afternoon tea, 30 minutes: Light refreshments and hot drinks

Kete of kindness exercise: A shared reflection exercise to round off the day and share personal insights with each other.

Programme runs from 8.30am or 9am and finishes at 3.30 or 4pm.

Testimonial - Gallagher

There has been a real buzz in the office today from the experience, for those that don’t do much in the outdoors it pushed some boundaries and for those that enjoy the outdoors it always provides a sense of calmness and serenity. The flow of the day worked well for us, the mindfulness hike was a highlight – it slowed everyone down and got them into the right frame to be present. The survival activity was a great refresher and change of pace, got people up and about, thinking differently and working together. Catering was superb. People commented on the quality of the food. The whole environment reinforced the value of getting away – and although the facilities are relatively basic, there is something special about Maungatautari. One of our quarterly OKR’s has been given the title of “Climbing our Maunga”

  • Give back to conservation: Is your team feeling fit and strong? Get hands on with giving back to conservation by lending a hand to the rangers by clearing monitoring tracks.
